Roz Down - 2024

After completing O and A Level art, it wasn’t until some years later that Roz discovered that painting and drawing was very therapeutic and a way to channel her emotions and switch off from the world.

Some of her early work is in pastel/charcoal and changed when she was recovering from an accident where she was laid up for some weeks and unable to get to her easel. She picked up an ink pen and started with basic doodle designs and gradually added acrylic colour.

She spent some years working and living abroad in Nigeria, Canary Islands, Germany, Bermuda & Tanzania, which is where some of her inspiration comes from.

Since living in Hitchin she has completed three wall murals, founded the Facebook Art Hub page, which has over 400 members and still growing, organised pop up art exhibitions, coordinates the Hitchin Information office art gallery and four annual art markets and still finds time to accept commissions and work full time with autistic children.
