In a world dominated by images of perfection, and exposure to the perfect life, expectations can often be too high and unrealistic - one’s own internal health doesn’t match the external health.
Elena uses her work as an outlet to break conformity, exploring the contradiction between external preconceptions versus the internal desire to believe in one self-worth. Art that looks at you, looking at me, reflecting back to you and examines emotional connections.
This introspective art is a paradox of perfection and rebellion - through controlled, ordered and graphic imagery contrasted by loose, expressive marks, it embraces perfection and imperfections within one’s self.
