Sarah Poppleton - 2021

Sarah is best known for her coastal landscape oil paintings, often featuring the interplay of sunlight, shadows and reflections. She exhibits at a number of local art shows, and has been a prize winner a number of times in the Harpenden Arts Club annual exhibition. She exhibits each year in Cornwall to raise funds for the RNLI; the most recent show in June 21 being almost sold out.

She works from her studio in Harpenden, but enjoys painting outside in oils whenever possible, particularly in Cornwall on the beaches and cliffs. During lockdown, she turned her attention to still life painting, but the draw was still to capture the effect of sunlight, this time on reflective surfaces, or shining through translucent petals.

Her paintings are held in private collections both in the UK and abroad.
