Hayley Trampenau - 2021
Hayley has drawn animals since she was old enough to hold a crayon. Now she has moved on from crayons (although they sometimes do feature in mixed media work) and in the last 3 years she has started selling work through galleries, art markets and online.
What’s not changed is the subject matter. Inspiration comes from the natural world. Having 4 dogs gives her plenty of opportunity to walk in the countryside or along the coast, absorbing every moment. The changing light falling across the sea, beach, fields, clouds and sky. She also treasures the small details found in nature, the colours and shapes in the hedgerows, the birds, insects, leaves and beach finds pebbles, glass and pottery.
Her biggest passion will always be animals, aiming to capture their beauty, form and movement in her own humorous and maybe a touch whimsical style. Working in Acrylic, ink, watercolour and mixed media. Hayley says “My goal is to bring a smile to the viewer yet remain true to the animals natural spirit and essence”. Reading her feedback from customers her work has brought lots of smiles and joy.
Hayley’s own dogs are her ‘muses’ and work with them has led into her producing commissioned pet portraits in her ‘cartoonish’ style. Working from photos and chatting with the customer to create a piece they can enjoy in their home or for a special present.
The 2020 restrictions brought all normal physical outlets to an abrupt halt but made Hayley push forward with social media marketing. She says “Online marketing and promotions will always be a valuable way of linking up and communicating with customers and other artists, but I am very much looking forward to getting back out into the 3D world again too!” She is delighted to exhibiting at the Ayot St Lawrence show for the first time.
You can see Hayley’s work and greetings cards at The Wynd Gallery and Buckingham galleries, at various art shows and art markets and via her website. www.hayley.gallery
