Shveta Maini - 2026
Born and raised in India, Shveta grew up surrounded by the richness of culture, language, and tradition. Her background in surface textiles first introduced her to the tactile world of color, texture, and pattern—foundations that now inform her painting practice. In 2020, she transitioned from textile design to full-time artmaking, embracing abstraction as a space of freedom and discovery.
Working from her studio in Hertfordshire, she explores the tensions between silence and chaos, order and disorder, permanence and impermanence. Deeply inspired by the ocean—shaped by her childhood as the daughter of a naval officer—her work reflects on motion, memory, and resilience.
Shveta has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, including The Affordable Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, and The Royal Cambrian Art Academy Open Exhibition. For her, abstraction is a shared, borderless language, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and uncover their own stories within her layered works.
