Richard Wheeler - 2018
Richard is an historian by training. He has long been interested in art. Recently, he has had a successful first solo exhibition at a gallery on the South Coast. His boyhood upbringing and lifelong love of the sea are reflected in his artistic expression. His paintings are mainly seascapes and landscapes in a semi-abstract, impressionistic genre. The relationship between art and poetry, especially of the sea, is reflected in his painting. He paints mainly with a palette knife in oil and acrylic in his studio and en plein air.
