Les Williams - 2019

Les Williams loves working with a dip pen and watercolour wash, working on the urban landscapes of London and the rural scenes of Norfolk. He has travelled widely and looks to record his travels in sketchbooks. Drawing and painting on location adds vibrancy to the work that cannot be easily replicated in the studio.

He finds inspiration in the life and buildings of the City of London, having worked there for many years. “It is impossible not to be impressed by the way buildings and areas rapidly change, providing so many opportunities to record history in the making”.

He has trained at the Prince’s Drawing School, and under some of the leading tutors of watercolour in the United Kingdom.

Les is President of the Society of Graphic Fine Arts, a Council member of the Lloyd’s Art Group, the Maritime Art Group, Essex Art Group, West Norfolk Artists Association and The Drawing London Group.

In June, Les participates in the Norfolk Open Studios in the village of Castle Acre,
Les will also be joining the Inspired by Becker show in August, at Blythburgh, Suffolk.
