Laura Dunmow - 2021
Laura is a professional artist, living and working in Hertfordshire. She creates work that is both fresh and vibrant, capturing distinctive and unique visual experiences across a diverse range of subjects. Oil is her selective medium as she enjoys the flexibility of its’ slower pace, sometimes adding impasto or applied gold leaf onto the canvas to create depth and interest.
Her passion is painting land and seascapes that embrace large skies capturing clouds across the seasons with all of natures’ beauty. Her paintings explore open atmospheric vistas, pushing contrasting colour palettes with tonal blending that combine to enhance the essence of depth and drama.
She is inspired by Turner’s brilliant use of light and colour, -applying these disciplines to her semi-abstract, contemporary interpretations. Her compositions are inspired by her travels both around the UK and further afield, always focusing on where the land interacts with the skies, conveying the freedom and ‘spirit’ of a place,
She enjoys spending many happy hours in her studio at home, where she continues to strive for perfection, - always with the desire to experiment and produce works that create diverse opportunities for the next, new painting. '
Over the past year, Laura has under-taken a number of commissions, creating bespoke gifts that capture a unique personal statement reflecting both the character of the owners and their home.
Laura has exhibited throughout Hertfordshire and the 3 counties, where her work sells through both galleries and UK art fars.
