Kay Wardley - 2018
Kay has been painting for nine years since retiring from the business world. She spent two years studying part time at Hertfordshire University during which time she discovered that she loved painting pet portraits. For the last eight years she has been painting commissions, mainly of dogs but also cats, horses etc. She paints mainly in oils but recently has discovered coloured pencils which allows her to utilise her skills in working in fine detail, mainly producing botanical drawings. For the last eight years she has been attending the monthly two day workshops at Childwickbury in Harpenden being taught by Christiana and Katherina Kubrick and Camilla Clutterbuck, where she and the other artists are encouraged to pursue their own individual style. Here at Ayot she is exhibiting three still life paintings which are inspired by her tutelage by these three renowned artists.
