Donna Chamberlain - 2021

Donna's journey into art started when she was young. Like many children she loved scribbling, mark making and exercising her imagination on paper. As Donna grew, other paths opened up for her and she found herself engrossed in the world of science; first Zoology then Psychology. These interests kept her pretty busy and art took a back seat for a long while.

Hitting 50 proved to be the perfect catalyst to reignite her passion for drawing and painting. She has experimented with acrylic, oil and gouache but keeps coming back to watercolour. It’s infuriatingly unpredictable, devilishly difficult to control and endlessly fascinating to play with. All of which add to the fun.

The natural world has always provided Donna with inspiration. Right outside her back door is the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. Her three dogs usually accompany her on sketching expeditions. Travelling has given her the opportunity to paint more exotic wildlife: Africa, Asia and the Galapagos Islands have all found their way onto her easel.
