To begin a painting is to embark upon a journey into the unknown....the final destination is perceived but rarely in focus. Memory, experience and intuition act as guides along a solitary creative path, strewn with twists and turns, to arrive at a place often unexpected, yet always inherently familiar. Inspired by a trilogy of the elements - land, sky and sea - Clare's paintings are abstract visions and amalgamations of memories, moods and feelings. They are nowhere yet everywhere. Places that resonate within us all.
