Chris Baker - 2022

Having graduated from Hornsey College of Art with a qualification in Graphic design, Chris quickly found his artistic feet through the medium of photography: a career that took him around the world photographing subjects as diverse as the Royal Family to the sewers of Cairo.

The second half of his career was based in London where he became a well respected headshot photographer for the acting profession, working with some very famous names: Michael Sheen, Imelda Staunton, Rob Brydon, Julia Sawhala and Stephen Graham, to name but a few.

He started painting a couple of years before finally hanging up his “work” camera, using it now to aid his painting. Photography, particularly studio work, gave him a powerful understanding of how light behaves and it is the infinite variety of light that inspires his work, whether it is a figure or a landscape.
