Caroline Matthews - 2025
Caroline Matthews makes pastel paintings and drawings, to share her passion for being immersed in trees and woodland. Her detailed, representational works, with all the intricacies and textures found in nature recorded, capture the beauty of the peaceful moments she has spent observing first hand.
A dedicated advocate for the environment, Caroline is a member of the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust—where she volunteers— and the Woodland Trust. Her artistic practice aligns closely with her belief in the vital role of woodlands for both the environment and for mental well-being.
Caroline is a full-time practicing artist, with a background in education, and a member of the Studio Fridays group based in North London. Since the start of 2024, her work has been exhibited in the Mall Galleries, London, with the Pastel Society, the Society of Graphic Fine Art, ING Discerning Eye and the Royal Society of British Artists.
