Anne Hignell - 2025
A Hertfordshire artist, Anne has been painting and exhibiting for over 30 years.
In recent times, Anne has concentrated on a local river and her garden for inspiration and both subjects have offered diverse and varied ideas throughout the changing seasons.
This year, Anne has been exploring the human form and her work is based on earlier sketches and photographs taken in India. Placing figures in a composition invites the viewer to ask questions about what is happening? What is the human story here?
Anne’s style remains impressionistic and semi-abstract and she uses mixed media including acrylic paint, charcoal, water soluble pencils and collage.
